    Evaluation Place— Homestead Hospital

I took my son to Homestead Hospital, for asthma. When we arrived there was an emergency room tech at the counter that had no greeting manors. She didn’t even look at us; she murmured, “fill out the pick form and take it to the registration desk.” I did! My son was coughing and coughing; no one even asked why we were here. So after he received his ID band from the clerk, we sat down in what was supposed to be the children’s area. But it was filled with adult patients. It was about 30 minutes before I got up and asked the tech, “When was someone going to check my son?” The tech then asked my son to seat in the seat next to her; she checked his SAT, which was below 100%, actually it was at 85%. She rushed him in the back where the doctors were and requested a treatment immediately. This was a horrible experience. Why do people have to beg not to die at a hospital, when its obvious patients come to the hospital to prevent from dying?

    Evaluation place- Sally Beauty Supply

Sally Beauty supply is a great beauty supply store to shop at. It’s the world’s largest retailer of professional beauty supplies. At Sally Beauty you can buy just about any beauty products you need for your hair, nails, body and more. I not only shop at Sally Beauty but I work there as well. The store I work at is located off of US1 and 136 street, just across from the Falls shopping mall. Sally Beauty has many stores in the Miami area. One of the most organized, cleanest and well stocked stores is the one on 136 street. Most of our customers compliment our store everyday. They compliment the store mostly on its cleanliness and friendliness of the employees.

Very nice post Millie. I like that you kept it short and informative. I know where it is. Now, can I buy stuff from them online? Is there a phone number?

Public parks are starting to become dangerous for people who go to enjoy them. Certain teenagers tend to hang out there until dark to drink or do drugs. I constantly see police at one park or the other because of the crowd that hangs out there every single day. The public parks are located in Leisure City on Harding Ln between Avocado Dr (296 St) and Biscayne Dr (288 St). Graffiti is becoming a major issue at the public parks because of the different gangs that vandalize every wall or sign they see. Parks were made for recreation, for kids to enjoy the rest of their afternoon after a long day at school. Today you rarely see people and kids at parks like before. A little better maintenance and security at these public parks would benefit the community.

    Evaluation place-Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart located on US1 in Florida City across from Best buy is a wonderful place to shop. Not only is Wal-Mart lower price, but it opens 24/7. Not everyone likes to go to Wal-Mart because they claim that it’s too cheap. Most are Publix fan because and claim that everything Publix have is better then Wal-Mart.The question remains that if you have a late night hunger, will Publix be open so you can go satisfy that craving. No matter what anyone thinks, Wal-Mart is a super center that fits everyone’s budget. Rich or poor, Wal-Mart has whatever anyone needs. If everyone shop at Wal-Mart for its price, a lot of people will see the difference in their wallet compare to when they used to shop at publix or where ever they use to shop.

    Betty’s Best Burgers
On Thursdays the company is good and the food is delicious. The burgers are fresh and they come in different sizes; the taco chicken salad is to die for. The fries are my favorite; I dip them in hot cheese. I also love the hotdog with chilly. The chicken sandwich is so big that I cannot eat it by myself. There is also a fresh salad bar with tomatoes, onions, peppers, cucumbers, beans, etc. They also have a bar and a bakery. Sometimes my husband orders a beer and I go directly to the bakery which has a wide variety of fresh baked cookies. They serve creamed shakes and ice cream. The price for the food is very affordable.

Gema, this is an excellent post. The only thing I might do differently is to include the address and maybe their website, if they have one. I believe that the word “chilli” is with an “i.” Good job.

South Dade Park is a very enjoyable place where my friends and I go every weekend to have a good time and also play basketball. Its a family oriented park so its a fun place for kids and adults of all ages to go spend a fun sunny day at the park. The park is well maintained so theirs almost never any complaints. The park is located right in the back of South Dade Senior High school. It has many activities such as a play ground with swings for the little kids,a basketball court, a large area of grass where people play football or soccer, tennis court, a jogging track with exercise activities on the side, and a skate park. Some people even throw birhtday parties for their kids because how clean and peaceful the park is.If I were to rate this park on a scale from one to ten I would give it a ten because it has an activity for people of all ages, and its also an all around fun and safe park to be at.

The Sun Life Stadium is a great place to take the family and friends to see the Marlins play baseball. I enjoy going there with a group of friends. the tickets are cheap and ease to purchase. Although once in the park I relized that the stadium was designed for the Dolphins and not for the Marlins. not only that but the seats are uncomfortable and the beer is expensive. Sun life stadium is also located in one of the worst neighborhoods in town. In addition the light are not set up for baseball. Even though there are so many negitives, as long as you have your friends/family, a cold beer in your hand and the Mermaids dancing around in the dugout, the Sun Life Stadiums not that bad.

Robert is here! Is the greatest place in my family’s vicinity. We go there when we are bored, hungry or need a fruit or vegetable. Robert’s is about 2 miles from our home. We love to give food to all the animals on the property. There are donkeys, turtles, gooses, ducks, chickens, tortoises, goats, lambs, dogs, cats, parrots, and even ostriches. The fruits and vegetables are the freshest you can find; sometimes they have better prices than the supermarkets. Our family had started a habit to walk to Robert’s so we could do some sort of exercise. Then we would rest there on one of there swings drinking a shake and then walk it off home.

    Big Lots!

Big Lots is one of my favorite places to shop. I’ve been to several Big Lots and my favorite one so far is on campbell drive, inside the shopping center. They are very economical in price. You can find brand named items for less. Whether it be cleaning supplies, food or home decor. They even have a furniture section, which has really nice things. I like thier home decor section. Alot of the things that you can purchase at Pier 1 for far more money, can be found at Big Lots. The only complaint I have is that they never have more than one register open and the lines can get pretty long. Other than that Big Lots is a great place to shop.

    Sedanos Supermarket

Don’t let the signs fool you!. As you walked in the Produce Department of the Sedanos located in Homestead there is a huge sign that says FRESH PRODUCE, well let me tell you this is not true. I needed to get a bag of oneons so when I got to the produce department to pick a bag ,I noticed they were all rotten and had such a bad smell, I also got a bag of potatoes and noticed they had white flowers growing out of them. This is unacceptable, who has the time to go back to return them after a long day of work. We need to make recommendations to the Managers so that they can inspect their produce items before they put them on their shelves, otherwise, how can people benefit of the low prices if what they buy goes directly in the trash because of the rotten conditions.

    Evaluation place: Forever21

When I first moved to Florida, I felt so out of my element. Everything is so different from my hometown; the stores, the restaurants, and even the people are different. My first time at International Mall made me a little depressed. My favorite thing about NYC was the fashion and the malls. Being at International Mall only reminded me of what I was missing in NY, until i spotted the huge Forever 21. Forever 21 was my favorite store in NY and to be able to enjoy it here as well, made my eyes light up. The store was very organized, and had so much to choose from. As I shopped in Forever 21, I forgot about everyone around me. For a moment, I forgot about being away from home, and I loved every minute of it.

    Miami Nights

This is my favorite place to hang out at. It is a night club in Naranja. There are different events that go on at the club. It is a very big place that holds about 900 people. The people who go there gave it the nick name “the nights.” I love Tuesday and Saturday because it is always over 200 people there having a good time. Miami Nights just recently open but if you go there you would think it has been open for years. The service is great there too. People have parties there all the time because it’s cheaper then other clubs. It also have great food there and the kitchen is very clean. My favorite is the club burger.

R.C.M.A is a afterschool program, for elementary children of migrant farm workers. R.C.M.A provides security for the parents ,and provides educational help for the children. I attended R.C.M.A as a kid, and did volunteer work at R.C.M.A. I enjoyed being helped with homework, and going to field trips in the summer. While doing volunteer work, I gave the same positive , and memorable experience I got when I attended R.C.M.A. It made me feel happy when they had learned something new every day. Their smiles ,and hugs motivated me to keep coming every day.

    McDonalds

McDonalds is one of my favorite fast food Restaurant. Although we always expect to get same high quality of its products and attention, that was not the case at this location. I took my son to McDonald located between Caribbean Blvd and US 1 across from Southland Mall. When we arrived, my son had to use the bathroom and there we found our first surprise. The bathroom was a complete mess!! It was stinky and dirty. It did not even have soap to wash our hands. Then, we went to make the line to place our order. So, we waited a total of 25 minutes and there were just three people in line including my son and I. In addition to this, the employee taking the orders had a terrible attitude; she did not even look at the customers. She did not have any kind of manners. Finally, we received our order and guest what…! It was completely cold. Also the chicken nuggets of my son tasted like fish, and my coffee was horrible. As it is normal in a three years old boy, he wanted to go to play ground. That was the worst decision that we made. The playground was dirty and smelled like a big trash can. The worst part was when my little boy found rotten food next to the slide, that was when I decided not only to leave immediately, but also to never come back.

Many people dont realized that exercising at least two times weekly can change their lives in a positive way. The YMCA gym located at 312 streets in homestead Florida, is one of the places i spend minimum one hour a day for my self to keep in shape, and to eliminate stress of my body. What i really like from that gym are the diferent people who go there from children to old age, and they all have fun. They offer lots of courses for all types of person like yoga, spinning, aerobic, dance lesson ,body sculptor, and so on. Many others activities take place for children like basketball, soccer, baseball, and football. They olso offer swimming lessons for all ages, and everything for an acceptable price. Sport and workout is not nly good for our health, but it is also a distraction for us.The time we dedicated to our self in order to charge our’s body with new energy pays it self after. (They say,”love your self and you allways have love”). 🙂

Ace’s Shooting Range in Doral, not far from the MDPD Headquarters, is one place that I enjoy myself a great deal. I go to Ace’s to practice my precision with my three pistols before any shooting competitions or just to blow off some steam. It is a small indoor range with a gun shop where they have a custom gunsmith. Ace’s is a very cozy place where most people know each other and have a lot of fun. Although I usually go when it is empty and quiet for my own privacy, I have always enjoyed the service, the easy-going atmosphere, and most importantly, the cleanliness of the range. The only issue I have with Ace’s Shooting Range is the size and the fact that all the lanes are indoors. There is definitely room to improve in that aspect. However, for anybody who participates in competition shooting, is entering law enforcement, or just wants to experience shooting a firearm, Ace’s Shooting Range is the one place that I would recommend.

Evaluation place- SpellBound Books and Gifts

SpellBound Books and Gifts isn’t much else but a hole in the wall, but to me it’s more than that..more than you can possibly imagine. I remember the first time I found discovered this pleasant little place; My friends and I had recently found out that the Alpha & Omega Book and Comic Shop was suddenly closed for business from that day on. We were distraught because we have had our regular get-togetheres there since it was opened. So that whole entire day was spent looking all over Krome Avenue for a new place to call “our second home”, after a couple of hours tempers rose as well as the heat outside and we decided to go inside this nameless building to cool down in all meanings of the word. It was then we realized that this little area was in fact a bookstore that had recently rented out the space it now occupied. We decided to go for it, and talked to the owner of the business, Denise Sleeper, if it was alright to have our weekly get-togethers inside her bookstore and she happily agreed to let us have a run of the place every Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We help out Denise’s business in any way we can, whether it be advertisement, events..anything she needs help with we are glad to lend a hand, we are constantly in debt to her and her generosity. Since then our business is slowly coming to fruition…and it’s all thanks to one little bookstore.

    Evaluation place- Gamestop
    Colonial Drive

Gamestop is a well known in the US for it’s cheap prices and stock. I remember the first time I had gone there with my best friend. He was already familiar with the store, which back then was EBGames. I had been getting my games from Best Buy then. He had taken me there because I was very sad. I had found a kitten the week before and taken him to the vet. I had him de-wormed and checked out only for him to die a few days later. Of course my friend was saddened as well, because he loves pets. He took me to the gamestop and my instincts as a gamer instantly awakened. I was excited and felt like a kid in a candy store. We spent 200 dollars on games that day. (his money of course) I will never forget how I felt that day when I walked in the store. Not only was it stocked wall to wall with games, but it was clean, well organized and the staff was friendly.

    EVALUATION PLACE- SPORTS AUTHORITY
How often do you have time to run around several different stores to purchase what you’re looking for within a whole day? Not much time!! Once you get into one store you tend to be stuck there for a while not realizing that time is flying. Now that you been stuck in that one store you don’t even have time to go purchase other things at the other different stores. Well all that can change at Sports Authority located on 2611 NE 10th Ct, Homestead, FL 33030; right inside the Homestead Pavilion is here to serve you better. Sports Authority, a very big store with many selections to choose from. In Sports Authority you can find, fitness equipment, merchandising, and apparel for both men and women. Camping, fishing, anything for outdoors can be found there. You can also visit the team sports department where you will find anythying for all type of sports. They even have running, walking, and casual shoes. Once again you can’t go wrong with Sports Authority, they got anything for golf. You should go to Sport Authority for the summertime. They have pools, bathing suits, and other water supplies. Game tables are also sold there. Mountain bikes to hiking bikes, or just regular bikes for kids and adults, in different sizes can be found there. Overall you can’t go wrong with Sport’s Authority from the items needed.

    EVALUATION OPTIMA-LITE NAILS II

I have always had a thing for nails. Whenever im sad or bored, gettng my nails done makes me feel relax and calm. I love going to Optima-Lite Nails II,which is located in Homestead on 8st, because it has a variety of different type of designs. The designs are so creative and outstanding. They really take their time to make the art come out as close as perfect as it could get. The only thing wrong is that it is expensive. When you add more to the design, your total adds up and makes it a really high price. Although it might be too much to pay, I rather spend my money there, than all the other places i’ve been to. They make it fit you and wanting to come back for another full-set. No other place in Homestead, does all the different type of nails they do there. This is my all time favorite place to be at.

    Evaluation Six Flags Over Georgia

It was the summer of 2007 and I was on my way to Atlanta on a church trip. I was extremely excited because it would be the first time I would be traveling alone outside of Miami. I was floored when we arrived at Six Flags. There were roller coasters everywhere you looked and the sounds of screams pierced the air every time a tram slid into a death-defying drop, and soon it would be my turn. My friends and I anxiously inched towards the Superman ride. This particular coaster turned you at such an angle that when it started moving your face would be parallel to the ground. I was so scared that when I handed the ticket woman my ride pass the paint came off due to my sweaty palms. She laughed and took my ticket, and even though I laughed with her the closer and closer I got to the ride the more my heart felt like it would burst, but I still got on. When I was brave enough to open my eyes a screamed, not in terror, but in happiness, I felt like I was flying and it was the best experience of my life.
