Each year, hundreds of thousands of ex-offenders are released back into the community. There are many challenges and obstacles that exist that hinder successful reentry. Reentry poses issues of public safety for neighborhoods. Very little is done to prepare ex-felons for this transition. Without the proper support structures in place upon their release, former prisoners often fall back into a life of crime. This research paper focuses on released convicts and the struggles they face to become active and progressive members of society.

Despite the vast research on the topic of leadership, it is often misunderstood and executed incorrectly in many environments. Leaders find themselves emulating their former superiors and often fail to successfully sell their own vision. Each style of leadership can be used to achieve multiple levels of results dependent on the environment and strength of leadership vision. The conclusion based on multiple sources including the fathers of leadership theory, James MacGregor Burns and Bernard M. Bass, found that transformational leadership can only be as successful when based on a transactional foundation. An organization can enter a stage in which the vision becomes almost dogmatic and its chief champion becomes a true transformational leader, but a successful leader must be both transactional and transformational. Both leadership styles are based on the same moral requirement and it was found that all leaders can be transactional, but not all can be transformational.

Sex education in the public schools system is an ongoing debate in America. The issue does not seem to have a decisive answer on which method to use whether abstinence or comprehensive education. Both methods have their place in the classroom but research has shown that teaching comprehensive sex education to young adults is more beneficial than the latter. The decline in pregnancies over the last 2 decades suggests that both methods are necessary to successfully educate teens on sex. When they are taught not only the benefits of waiting for marriage but also the techniques to properly protect themselves, arms them to make wiser choices for their future

There have been increases in the number of children who are obese and overweight in recent years. Children are less active today than in the past; they would rather watch television or play video games than go outside and play. There are more parents who work outside the home and more households headed by single parents today than there were in the past. Schools have changed breakfast and lunch menus to serve healthier foods and snacks. Vending machines with treats and sweets have been replaced with water, Gatorade, wheat thins, and low fat treats. Physical education requirements in schools have also changed. The First Lady Michelle Obama and the White House have teamed up and started the campaign “Let’s Move.” There are several identifying factors which can contribute to childhood obesity. Now a solution or solutions must be found. The problems of obesity, its contributing factors and some solutions will be discussed.

Sexual Harassment in the work place has become one of the leading employment law cases in the United States. Sexual Harassment has captured the media attention with a number of congressional high profile cases. Most statics reveal women are leading men in filing these types of employment law cases. To prevent sexual harassment in the work place, employers need to have a clear outline of a sexual harassment policy. Managers need to attend seminars and trainings to assist them in being able to identify these types of situations in the workplace. Managers need to have training with their employees on sexual harassment prevention. The trainings may not prevent sexual harassment from happening but it can minimize the amount of cases filed.

Abstract
The current economic crisis in the United States began in late 2007 as a direct result of the burst of the real estate “housing bubble.” The main cause of the crisis was the over-investment and spread of risk through sub-prime mortgages. While banking institutions and other mortgagees were eager to issue sub-prime mortgages, they were careless to compare the price of the mortgages with the mortgagors’ salaries and incomes. This resulted in millions of unqualified people obtaining mortgages and, in turn, caused real estate prices to increase to unrealistic, exorbitant levels. When the mortgagors began to default on their payments, many went into foreclosure, and began losing not only their homes but also their jobs. Consequently, the national economy began contracting with many financial institutions filing for bankruptcy, and the availability of investment funds drastically reduced. Employers moved to streamline their operations by laying off workers and cutting back on expenses. This caused a sudden increase in the unemployment rate – arguably the single most catastrophic consequence of this crisis.

The economy needs fantasy football just as much, if not more than the fantasy football participant. Everyone from the CEO of CBS Sports to the pizza delivery guy at Pizza Hut benefits from fantasy football in some way or another. Every summer, millions of men and women all across the country start contacting their friends to get their leagues in order, and their fantasy draft day scheduled. Restaurants and bars book back rooms, open early, and hire more servers for a hectic month of August. Special websites are created just for fantasy football. DirectTV’s subscriptions are sure to rise during the summer months leading up to football season. More and more people head out to stadiums with the hope of catching “their star player” in action. When these people are at the stadiums it is only natural, nine times out of ten, that they will get hungry or thirsty, and make a mad dash to the concession stands, sometimes more than once or twice during a single game. Fantasy football is extremely popular in today’s society.

Working class mothers are individuals who must learn to manage a world outside their homes. Learning to transition from “mommy” to a career woman creates stress within the household. Maintaining a household is not an easy task; in particularly, when adding a job into the mixture it develops a mom into “supermom.” Studies have shown being a “stay at home mom” effects the child’s development; it can actually handicap a child in the sense that generates a “coach potato.” However, parenting is very vital for a child, especially in the early stages; at times lack of parent’s presence may also affect the child’s character. Whether staying at home or having no choice but to balance a job and household, is a decision that will make a major impact on the child’s future.

How many men or women have had someone at work make a comment to you of a sexual nature or physically touched you on your person that you did not like?
The above incidents are the results of hundreds of employment law cases being filed. The case involving Anita Hill vs Clarence Thomas received national media attention. Ms. Hill claimed Mr. Thomas’s use of “provocative language” in her presence. Although Mr. Thomas was not charged with a crime, this case put the spotlight on Sexual Harassment in the work place. A surge in the filing of Sexual Harassment cases followed.
If you are one of the many men and women here in the United States have answered yes to the above question you can file a Sexual Harassment complaint. Before filing your complaint make sure that you have a clear understanding of what constitute Sexual Harassment in the workplace. Sexual Harassment is defined as “unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature.”
Sexual Harassment cases are not easy to prove and sometimes it comes down to your word against the employer’s word. Make sure you have supporting evidence to back your claim and provide the evidence to the person that will investigate your case. The investigator needs to be informed of all potential witnesses along with their names, addresses and telephone numbers.
To prevent Sexual Harassment in the workplace, employers need to have a clear outline of a Sexual Harassment policy. Managers need to attend seminars and trainings to assist them with being able to recognize these types of situations. Sexism still persists in some countries and women are still treated as objects. On the other hand, women are supposed to be submissive, take care of the house, children, and their husbands. Women have been discriminated against by society, religions, their workplace, and by their husbands. Society has been the number one discriminator given women no rights. There are some countries that have sexist laws and they do not support women. For instance, Afghanistan passed a law in which marital rape was legal.

Divorce is the most traumatic and life changing events for children. Decades of research have documented child-related problems associated with the permanent separation of married parents. Results showed that separation and family conflict were associated with children’s behavioral and emotional problems. We examine the effects of divorces on boys and girls. We ask the question that how come some children are severely affected by separation, while others seems to be relatively unaffected. We investigated the differences between boys and girls from divorced families’ adjustment to the middle school transition. One particular analysis revealed that girls from divorced families were less adjusted to making friends than were boys from divorced families. The findings showed that girls from divorced families were more adjusted to the academic and social characteristics of the middle school transition than were boys from divorced families.

Life can be difficult for the average teenager and not having a loving family to belong to can make it additionally more tormenting. Adolescents go through life searching for acceptance from home, friends, and society in general.
An average of nearly 750,000 children currently resides in some form of foster care. Foster care is a system in which minors like infants, children, and or teenagers have been considered a ward to themselves and are placed in a private home of a state certified caregiver referred to as a “foster parent”. During this time the state via the family court and child protection agency stand in as the legal guardian for the minor, making all legal decisions while the foster parent is responsible for the day to day care of the minor. This is a task both rewarding and difficult.
