Okay. Today we learned how to access articles in the Barry database and how to use direct quotations. We also discussed the difference between a direct quotation and a paraphrase. Each of you wrote a paragraph where you incorporated material from the article you printed out or saved. Please post that paragraph here. Make sure that the grammar and spelling is flawless. Thank you.
Over the years Alternative Dispute Resolution has generated increased attention. With that increased attention we have noticed heightened anxiety. According to Mero, Guidice and Anna, the partial mediation process between accountability and decision quality is perceived as a need to justify and task anxiety which provides a valuable description of two underlying psychological processes that influence decision responses. For instance, the findings suggest that individuals who are more sensitive to the view of others, such as those higher in public self-consciousness, are more likely to feel greater anxiety about a rating task and therefore are more likely to make higher quality decisions under similar conditions of accountability. We can eliminate the anxiety by letting the process take its course without being too personally involved. So in conclusion, remove the personal element, keep your chin up and your head on.

According to the Food Safety and Inspection Service, “The FDA allows food producers and marketers to use language on their packaging that advertises the health benefits and production methods of their products”. Proper labeling describes the contents of the products whether they are natural or not. These types of packaging methods allow the shopper to choose the most appropriate product of their choice. The percent of organic ingredients will be clearly indicated along with the organic seal if the products meet such inspection. Other important information such as no hormone, minimally processed, kosher and so on is also indicated. In order for a label to get approved for products, they must pass a special inspection by a USDA official. In conclusion, according to the FDA, “Organic foods must be produced without conventional pesticides, fertilizers made with synthetic ingredients, sewage or sludge; bioengineering; or ionizing radiation”.

President Obama had paid little attention to the NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement). According to Lowethal “Soon after Obama’s inauguration, however the administration organized high level visits to Latin America and the Caribbean and announced various initiatives toward the region” (2010, pg 110)”. Calling for a “new beginning in U.S – Cuban relations, it loosened restrictions on travel and remittances to Cuba by Cuban Americans, said it would consider allowing U.S. investment in telecommunications networks with the island, and expressed a willingness to discuss resuming direct mail service to Cuba and to renew bilateral consultations on immigration to the United States. This was done in addition to the White House’s preexisting commitment to attend the summit in Trinidad and Tobago. In our nation and many others, there are hidden forces that are running our country, in secrecy. According to Ankomah, “Powerful secret societies in the West and elsewhere rule their countries and the world behind the scenes.” In order to understand what this means you have to take a closer look into the history of our founding fathers and the nature of secret societies. At a glance, it seem as though the country is being run by our president and elected officials, but a deeper look into our past may paint a very different picture. These societies keep the locations and the details of their meetings a secret to the outside world. Their members have very prominent positions, and are linked to some of the most rich and powerful families in the world.

Divorced parents encounter difficulties providing parental emotional availability; even though, child attachment is very important during this period. Many parents tend to focus a lot more on the divorce process and trying to adapt themselves to their new status than the welfare of the child. It is not that they stopped taking care of the child; it is just the time they spend does not have either the same quality it used to have, or the patience needed. It is very important that parents focus more on the children and provide them more quality time. According to Altenhofen, Sutherland, Biringen “Emotional tone in parent–child relationships during the divorce process can have an effect on how well the child adjusts to changes in family structure

The Bleaching of the Coral Reefs
According to researchers, the low availability of food, energy efficiency of coral symbiosis, and the climate changes has created an increase in frequency in the coral reefs bleaching. (Anthony et al, 2009, pg. 539). A growing number of studies into how the water temperature, water quality, and solar radiation contribute to the events of coral bleaching. Several studies have demonstrated that coral bleaching leads to a reduction in tissue biomass. Whether a coral survives or dies from the bleaching event is determined largely by the energy it stores. (Fitt et al. 2000). “Conversely, in partially bleached corals, enhanced light scattering by the skeleton may lead to optimal light conditions for the remaining corals.” (Mendez & Iglesias-Prieto, 2005). The results of these studies indicate that the lack of food, the saline quality of the water, the solar radiation, and water temperature, all contribute to the frequent events of the coral bleaching worldwide.
