Sexual Harassment has become one of the leading employment law cases in the United States. Most statics reveal that women are leading men in filing these type of employment law cases. As defined by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Sexual Harassment means “unwelcome sexual advances, requests, for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature.” Before filing your claim it is important to know that there are two different types of Sexual Harassment cases. The first is Quid Pro Quo which is when “a supervisor or someone with authority over the victim make a “put out or get out” demand (Bann, 1997). The second is called Sexually Hostile Work Environment which means, “A supervisor, oc-worker, or someone else with whom the victim comes in contact on the job, creates an abusive work environment or interferes with the employee’s work performance through words or deeds” (Strickland, 1995).

Transactional and transformational leadership require uniquely distinct personalities. A transformational leader must have the personality to inspire others, create vision, and set direction in contrast to a transactional style, which is simply a power structure (Bennett, 2009, pg. 2). The need to drive business objectives alone may not provide sufficient incentive to get their personnel in the right mindset for successful results. Transformational leadership is infectious if driven by the right personalities. Employees will share the vision that is inspired by their leaders which will spread their trust and dedication of that vision between each other and ultimately into their results. Compared to transactional leadership, transformational will draw more results from individuals and cause lower leves of exhaustion in comparison to transactional (Zopiatis, Constani, 2009, pg. 309).

An article published in the Economist (2010) states that “ unemployment is so high and persistent in the area [Durham, N.C], because laid-off workers from local factories simply do not have the know-how to move into jobs in health care and other growing industries.” Indeed, the problem of unemployment is exacerbated when workers who have learned to perform but one task are suddenly confronted with unemployment and the need to change occupations. It is apparent that a percentage of workers is simply not capable of being retrained. Supporting data published in a study conducted by the U.S. Dept. of Labor in 2008 corroborate this assertion.(Marconi & Haspel, 2009, p.34).

According to (Marshall & Tracy, 2009) “Employees reported that they could not take leave because they could not afford it, took a shorter leave for financial reasons or found it difficult, to make ends meet during their leave (p.389). However, the working class mothers are faced with a difficult decision to make, during this process; in order to provide a stable foundation for their child or being more attentive as well as demonstrating more affectionate while staying at home. “Despite advances in the workplace, married, employed mothers are still carrying the bulk of the household labor and childcare responsibilities” (Coltrane 1996). Being a mother is a difficult task to manage, when adding work to the establishment it makes the obstacle more challenging. Not to mention, that “The working class mothers were actually found to be less depressed and higher morale than full time homemakers” (Hoffman & Youngblade, 1999). Meaning, that being a homemaker or a “stay at home mom” is not always the best option for a child’s development.

The hunt for simplicity as well as peace of mind is a social behavior that can strongly be accomplished through the fundamentals of philosophy. One can handle a difficult task by ceasing to “take the heart as master” in guiding ones actions by the heart (Fraser, 2008 p.126). In using this strategy a true inner fulfillment can be established. While symbolizing ones heart as a main stream to reflecting a positive outlook towards life. Gandhi states “I hold that believers who have to see the same God in others that they see in themselves, must be able to live amongst all with sufficient detachment” (Erickson, 1990 p.236).

In the last decade employment discrimination has increase and decrease throughout the year; it’s presented a different opportunity to provide better protections for employees against discrimination in the workplace. The law that started the fighting against discriminating against women and racial minorities started in 1964 called the title VII or Civil Right Act. The law prohibited discriminated, religion, or national origin; The Civil Right Act was created for both the public and the private sectors, Barbara(2009).For many employers were discriminated against any one they did not like or any they thought was not good enough because of the color of their skin. Skills, knowledge did not mean anything to these employers as long as white folk were doing the job even if they were not qualified for the job Hirsh (2009)

Most of us grow up aspiring to be professional athletes, but the harsh reality is that less than one percent of us will actually obtain this goal. So for the rest of us in that ninety-nine percent, we must settle for the next best thing, watching professional sports. The only thing, that I found, that could make watching sports even better, is fantasy sports. Fantasy sports, football mainly, enhances the way you watch the game. It gets you to take a look at the rest of the league, and not just your own favorite team. The ever growing popularity of fantasy sports has had a major effect on the way football is watched, as well as rooting habits among its participants. Fantasy sports participants watch more game telecasts (Television, web, or even cell phones), buy more tickets, and spend more money at stadiums at a much higher rate than the average sports fan. “This lucrative business has become a cash cow, as an ever-growing list of websites are increasing their funding towards fantasy sports – the growth and opportunity are looking more promising than ever” (Levy, Fantasy Sports, Sports Agent Blog, Aug 16, 2010). “One would think that the recession we are currently in would have a negative effect on fantasy sports” (Gregory, Time Magazine; Aug/2009, Vol. 174 Issue 8, p47-48, 2p), however, businesses will continue to both thrive, as well as suffer, with the growth of fantasy sports.

Education is an important part of one’s life. The impact of the economy today has taken a turn in the value of how higher education is viewed. Many jobs require you to have some educational background. The technology we have today has increased, which has increased the unemployment rate of many Americans; jobs are being outsourced to foreign countries for cheaper labor. There has been an increase in the amount of adults who are returning to be a student in class learning a skilled vocational trade, obtaining a first degree or an obtaining an advanced degree of study. According to Beckie Supiano (2010), “there is evidence that there is a payoff to every year of education” (p. 1). Education pays maybe not in the short term range, but in the long term one can see the difference with having higher education to one who only has a high school or GED as education. There are advantages and disadvantages in everything life has to offer education is no exception. There are “both monetary and nonmonetary” benefits of higher education (Riley, 2010). Higher education and the economy has become the focus of the society and why it is important to the help the unemployment and increase the economy.

According to research completed at the Urban Institute, more than half a million prisoners are released from federal, state, and local prisons every year and face many obstacles to successful reentry (Roman, Wolf, Correa, & Buck, 2007). Numerous policy changes and the lack of supervision for ex-offenders once they are released from institutions attribute to the increased rate of incarceration and make the United States the number one in this category (Raphael, 2010, p.1). According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) over fifty percent of those released from incarceration will be in some form of legal trouble within three years.

Market grouping, market estimation, and market ranking are three major quantitative approaches of market potential assessment (Papadopoulos and Denis, 1988). Market grouping methods cluster countries based on their similarity, market estimation methods aim to differentiate countries based on a variety of indicators such as market size and economy prosperity, while the market ranking approach ranks countries or markets on some meaningful indicators of market potential (Papadopoulos and Denis, 1988). We discuss each major quantitative market assessment method in the next section.
The market grouping approach is closely linked with country/market clustering, segmentation, and country classification methods (Papadopoulos and Denis 1988; Steenkamp and Ter hofstede 2002; Shankarmahesh et al. 2005). Developed from domestic market segmentation, international country clustering has been recognized as an important tool to analyze a large number of countries or markets with varying market potential. The benefits of country clustering or grouping are obvious for firms already in international markets. Firms would consider entering countries which belong to the same cluster where they are comfortable and have already been successful.

Traditionally the role of a father in the family was limited. “The ‘breadwinners and the disciplinarians’ was the typical expectation” (Puddy & Roberts, 2010, p. 505). Although these contributions are necessary in rearing children, they lack an emotional connection needed in a family dynamic. The modern family has altered the role of fatherhood. Men are increasingly more involved in the household and no longer leaving all of work to the women. Men are rejecting the idea of the traditional family and embracing their new found roles (Fondas, 2009, p.1).Some fathers have gone as far as role reversal and are becoming stay-at-home fathers or single parents.

The African Americans certainly has its origin in the great migration of peoples from the Old world to the New world. “Unlike the Europeans, Asian and Latino Americans, Africans enter America in chains.” (Leone Bennett Jr. pg. 1) As early as 1502, the Spanish imported Africans to work on their New World sugar plantation in Hispaniola (today’s’ Haiti). “Slaves voiced their longing for freedom through preaching, spirituals, and met secretly for worship in what has been called the invisible institution.” (Ethel L. Williams and Clifton F. Brown eds. Pg. 1) Most Africans remained in bondage until the Civil War. In the 1860 and 1870s Black Americans gained freedom and citizenship. After the Revolutionary War, more African American became Christians. Independent black churches, mostly Baptist, began in the South or the mid-eighteenth century. Independent black demonations began in the North with the establishment of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 1816. They were certainly so excited for being free. It is so good to know and research our history.

Teachers are confronted with situations in a classroom that they have not been trained to deal with the violence in schools (Blaya, 2003. Pg 650). The initial training of teachers, notable in managing disruptive students, is an issue that arouses increasingly every day. This a question that I’m sure many would like answered. There is a seriously a problem with school violence today and anyone who believes different must have been locked away in a cave for the last few years. Although some children received the same punishment s as adults, they were not provided with many of the due process protections accorded adult criminals (Conward 1999,Pg.41)

Divorce is one of the most traumatic and life changing events for children.Descades of research(Amato & Keith,1991;documented child-related problems associated with the permanent separation of married parents. The greatest effects of divorce on child adjustmentare related to behavioral problem. Some children are severely affected by separation, while others seems to be relatively, unaffected. Moreover, the affects of separation are not necessarely adverse.Children who move from a conflictual, abusive,or negligent family situation to a more harmonious one many show diminished problems following separation.Traditionally, relatively more externalizing problems among boys than among girls following a divorce have been expected(Gamezy & Masten,1994), although this association has been question. One study(Hetherington,1993)demonstrated that by two years, after divorce there were no differences in social and emotional development between girls(6 years of age)from divorced and non divorced families.

There are countries in which men are placed as idols and women as their servants. There are some countries that have sexist laws and they do not support women. For instance, Afghanistan passed a law in which marital rape was legal. “The new law actually requires women to have their husbands’ permission in order to work, to study – or to leave the house. It weakens mothers’ rights in the event of a divorce, makes it impossible for wives to inherit from their husbands, and makes it impossible for women to refuse to have sex with their husband” (Hambrook, 2009).

    From Africa to America
History is a mystery. Many Black African Americans and other cultures do not know or have concepts of their history or legacy. Most do know our forefathers and mothers were Africans force to come to America to be slaves. In schools of America we are taught of what famous Black Americans have done and invented, yet the puzzle is not complete. The African part of our ethnics is not taught, or barely recognized. Knowledge is power. To grasp where you re going it is certainly important to know where you are from.
In the beginning of the Era of Enslavement, The Europeans arrived on the West African coast during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, they had already established the economic and technological foundations for the international slave trade. Between 1433 and 1488, Portuguese mariners used new knowledge of ocean currents to navigate Africa’s western coast, establish trade relations on the so-called Gold Coast, and set up sugar plantations on the northwest African islands of Madeira, Principe, and Sao Tomé.
